GoldHeaven
Ivaylo Hristov
18-26.04.2017
Ivaylo Hristov`s GoldHeaven project is presented to the audience in the context of the culmination of days dedicated to the holiest Orthodox religious celebration - Easter.
Formally, he uses fragments from the last book of the Bible for the latter days as the reference point, presenting a composition of works with multi-semantic references.
The artworks relate to both historical and contemporary events - military and political, religious, social or cultural shocks.
Considering the extremely sensitive nature of the topic, the project is not aiming to be exhaustive, but rather suggestive towards some philosophical and theoretical matters and personal interpretations.
GoldHeaven is an author's project without traditional curatorial intervention. It is assuming the risk of this absence.
The works are presented through a variety of artistic media - paintings, drawings, site-specific installations and objects, united, not only mechanically, in the intimate space of the gallery
Blessed are they that hear; for the time is at hand.
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; Even so.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith (The One) which is, and which was, and which is to come.
And I turned to see the voice that spake with me; and I saw his eyes were as a flame of fire;
And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
And when I saw him, I fell. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore.
